My dear friend...
There are many, many, many opportunities floating around you. You only need to reach out and seize the moment.
Not every opportunity will be for you, but you need to try some stuff. Work somewhere for two years, and then move somewhere else. Live somewhere else, go somewhere else, and do something else.
I cringe at the thought of doing the same monotonous routine for the next ten, twenty, even two years... Not everyone is like me though. Not everyone wants to wake up and enjoy their coffee in Italy one day, in France the next... Brazil the following, and then Dubai.
Not everyone wants to do lunch with business professionals and then celebrate with a jetski ride. Not everyone wants to have dinner in fancy restaurants with an endless tab, and food that doesn't stop until you drop. Not everyone takes the opportunity.
There's nothing wrong with having a job, and I'm not career bashing... But what I am saying, is that there's nothing like real freedom. The freedom to go, do, and be whoever you want to be. Spend time with whoever you want, and try the things you really desire. -- Worry free.
Make sure that your career is a daily pursuit of the things you would want most in life. Don't waste another second conforming to your current reality if it's not fulfilling you. Don't be afraid to switch paths, the people you need, the services you need, and the ideas you need are just over the horizon.
When your career is based around freedom, you can take on even more opportunities than a regular job. You'll be able to make your own schedule, take the days you need, and visit the right people. -- Business lunches are huge when it comes to expanding business.
Since I've given myself the career best for me, I take only the opportunities that already align with what I'm currently doing; consulting and mentoring becomes writer, public speaker, videographer, and photographer.
I like to expand my visions, and since I'm always around these things, it only made sense that I learn more about them and see what I can do on my own. -- I was amazed.
You'll be amazed at what you can do, if you not only try... But do!
Never miss an opportunity.
